The experience
The Telaga Waja comes straight from Mount Agung's springs, so the water stays cold and clear even on hot days. You'll spend roughly two hours on the river itself, paddling through sections that range from gentle to fast-moving. A professional guide shares one raft with three or four paddlers, steering through the tighter spots and calling out when to dig in hard. The route passes under hanging trees and opens onto views of rice fields that sit too far back to reach any other way.
A waterfall stop halfway through gives you time to climb out, take photos and catch your breath. The real adrenaline comes at the end: a 4-meter jump off Bajing Dam into a deep pool below. It's optional, but most people do it. After you paddle to the takeout point, you walk to the restaurant, shower with provided towels, and eat a buffet lunch while looking out at the green hills. The whole experience runs six to eight hours from pickup at your hotel in Ubud or the surrounding areas (Denpasar, Kuta, Legian, Candidasa and others) to dropoff.
The starting point sits close to the parking area, so there's no long hike before you get in the water. Guides speak English and know the river well enough to keep the pace steady for mixed fitness levels. You'll need to confirm your pickup time after booking via WhatsApp or email, so make sure the contact details you register are active.

Top questions
What happens if it rains?
It may be canceled due to bad weather. If that happens, you're offered another date or a refund. Free cancellation up to 24 h before the start.
Can I do this rafting trip if I've never paddled before?
Yes. The Telaga Waja route suits all fitness levels, and your guide handles the steering while you paddle with the group. The briefing at the start covers everything you need to know, and the guide stays in the raft with you the whole way.
What happens at the Bajing Dam jump?
At the end of the 16km paddle, you reach a 4-meter dam where you can jump into a deep pool below. It's safe and designed for this, and it's the highlight most people remember. Jumping is optional. You can skip it if you prefer.
Is lunch included, and what do we eat?
Yes, a buffet lunch is included at the restaurant after you finish rafting and shower. The menu varies, but it's served while you sit overlooking the rice fields and green hills.
What's the water temperature like on the Telaga Waja?
The water is very cold because it flows directly from Mount Agung's springs. Bring a rash guard or wear layers under your life jacket if you're sensitive to cold water.
Do I need to arrange my own transport to the river?
No. Hotel pickup and dropoff are included from Ubud, Gianyar, Denpasar, Kuta, Legian, Sideman and Candidasa. Confirm your pickup time after booking via WhatsApp or email using the contact details you register.
