The experience

How do you get from Lombok to the snorkeling sites? A driver picks you up from your hotel and takes you to the departure point, then you board a private outrigger boat for the crossing to the islands. The boat is yours alone for the day, which means the guide can adjust the route based on conditions and where turtles are spotted, rather than following a fixed schedule with other groups.

The snorkeling itself moves between three named stops. At Meno Walls, the guide takes you to find turtles grazing in the shallows and moving through the reef. The site also holds different fish species and coral formations. You'll then visit an underwater sculpture positioned in front of Bask Meno Property, where you can pause to photograph or film. A coral garden along the beach side rounds out the water time. Between stops, the guide handles the boat and explains what you're seeing. You focus on the snorkeling.

Lunch happens at either Anna Resto on Gili Meno or a restaurant on Gili Air, depending on where the boat is when hunger strikes. Before you enter the water, the guide checks your fin size and mask fit. You'll wear a life jacket and have snorkeling gear provided. Bring or rent an underwater camera if you want to document the turtles and sculpture. Bottled water and seasonal fruit are included throughout the day.
