The experience

The boat leaves from Likupang district after you're picked up from your hotel in an air-conditioned vehicle. Once on the water, the ride to Lihaga Island is short enough that the island stays quiet: no crowds, no resort infrastructure, just white sand and the shallow reefs close to shore. The water clarity means you spot fish and coral formations from the surface before you decide to dive deeper, and the relatively calm conditions make swimming and snorkeling manageable even if you're not experienced.

You get the full snorkeling setup: mask, fins, snorkel and wetsuit if you need it. The guide speaks English or Chinese and stays with the group throughout. After you've spent time in the water, lunch is served on the island: a break to dry off and rest before the return trip. Mineral water is provided throughout the day. The whole outing runs 6 hours from pickup to drop-off, which means you're back with time left in your afternoon.
