Pakerisan River tubing and Ubud cultural tour adventure

This private tour combines a 1.5-hour canyon tubing adventure on the Pakerisan River with visits to five of Ubud's main cultural sites: the Sacred Monkey Forest Sanctuary, Ubud Palace, Tegalalang Rice Terrace and Tegenungan Waterfall. Hotel pickup, an English-speaking driver-guide, all entrance tickets, lunch and river tubing insurance are included. The tour runs 10 hours from start to finish. Children from age 5 can participate in the tubing. A professional river guide leads that section.

The experience

The day starts with a 7 a.m. pickup from your hotel or villa, then a drive to the Pakerisan River where you meet the river tubing guide and get fitted with safety equipment. The tubing itself takes 1.5 hours, moving through a canyon with cool water and rock formations. You'll have access to lockers, towels, a shower and a changing room at the river site. After you're back and dry, lunch (an Indonesian set menu with a vegetarian option if you request it at booking), waits at a restaurant in Ubud.

The second half of the tour moves through Ubud's landmarks at a measured pace. The Sacred Monkey Forest Sanctuary is a jungle gorge where gray macaques move freely. The Ubud Palace is the official residence of the royal family and sits in the town center. Tegalalang Rice Terrace offers the classic stepped-field views people come to photograph, and Tegenungan Waterfall is surrounded by tropical trees. Your driver handles all the navigation and entrance tickets, so you move between stops without managing logistics.

The vehicle is air-conditioned and seats only your party: no other travelers join the tour. Your driver speaks English and Malay and stays with you throughout the day. The tour ends with a return to your hotel, completing the 10-hour loop.
