Bottled water is included; you bring a towel and arrange your own wetsuit if you want one.

The Experience

You arrive at Ozzy Snorkeling Center at 10:30am to fit the snorkeling gear—mask, fins, snorkel—before anyone enters the water. At 11am the glass-bottom boat departs for the Statue, a 45-minute dive where you can see the underwater sculpture and reef fish. The boat then moves to Turtle Point, where sea turtles feed and rest in the shallows; this is the stop most people come back for.

After Turtle Point comes the fish-feeding station, where you interact directly with the reef—the fish swarm close enough to touch. By midday the boat takes you to either Gili Meno or Gili Air, a neighboring island where you can eat lunch at a local warung (bring cash; lunch is not included) or walk the beach. This break gives your body a rest and your eyes a change of scene. The final stop is Blue Coral, the deepest and most biodiverse reef of the four, where you spend time with larger fish and coral formations before heading back to the office.

The whole trip runs about four and a half hours from start to finish. You're in a shared group on a public boat, so you'll meet other snorkelers. The guide speaks English and stays with the group at each site. Bring a towel and a rash guard or wetsuit if you have one (neither is provided); bottled water is on the boat.
