The experience

Six to seven hours across a full day means you start before dawn. Your driver and guide meet you at your hotel at 6 a.m., or a time you set, and drive straight to the Taj Mahal for sunrise. The guide explains the monument's history while you watch the sun reflect across the white marble. They also help you frame photographs inside. After the visit, you return to your hotel for breakfast before heading to Agra Fort, built by Mughal King Akbar in 1556 and now a UNESCO World Heritage site. The fort's palaces show where the royal family lived, and from its walls you get a view back toward the Taj Mahal itself.

From Agra Fort, you drive an hour to Fatehpur Sikri, the capital of the Mughal empire for 16 years before it was abandoned due to water shortage. Lunch happens at a restaurant during the drive back to Agra. Your final stop is Mehtab Bagh Garden, positioned behind the Taj Mahal on the opposite bank of the Yamuna River, where you watch the sunset over the monument. The garden holds over 27 species of plants and various bird species. After sunset, your driver takes you back to your hotel or to Agra's bus or train station, depending on your departure plans.

Skip-the-line entry to all monuments is included, so you avoid the queues at each site.
