The experience

Your guide meets you at your hotel at 9 AM and drives you first to Sri Aurobindo Ashram, where you'll spend time learning about the spiritual community founded by Sri Aurobindo and his disciple, The Mother. From there the route moves to White Town, the French Quarter, where you walk through preserved colonial streets, visit the Church of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, and see the Old Lighthouse. A lunch break follows at noon: included if you select that option at checkout.

The afternoon takes you to Auroville, an experimental township founded in 1968, where you explore the Matrimandir, a golden globe-shaped temple at the center of the community, and its surrounding gardens. Next is the Pondicherry Museum, which holds sculptures, archaeological finds, and artifacts from the French colonial period. You'll then have time at Bharathi Park, a public green space with statues and a pond, before ending at Promenade Beach at 5 PM for a walk along the water and views of the Bay of Bengal. The car returns you to your hotel by 6 PM.
