The experience

The driver picks you up from your hotel or any location in Jaipur and handles the full route to Agra. If you book the Stepwell option, the first leg is a 2-hour drive to Chandboari Stepwell, where you have an hour to walk the stepwell yourself: the driver stays at the parking area. After that, you can stop for lunch on the highway if you want (your own cost), then continue to Fatehpur Sikri if you've added that option, another 2-hour drive. At Fatehpur Sikri the driver again waits in the parking area while you spend an hour exploring the ruins on your own. The final stretch takes you into Agra, where the driver drops you at your hotel.

The car is private, air-conditioned, and includes all fuel, tolls, state taxes and parking fees. Nothing hidden. You're not tied to a tour schedule or a guide's pace. You move through each site alone and stop for rest or food whenever you need to. The trade-off is that entrance fees and any meals are your own expense, and you'll be navigating the sites without a guide's commentary. This setup works well if you want to travel between cities without the hassle of buses or trains, and you're comfortable exploring monuments on your own or with a travel companion.

How does the driver know where to drop me in Agra if I haven't booked a specific hotel yet?

You provide your hotel details when you book, and the driver receives them in advance. If your plans change, you can update the driver with your desired drop-off location through email or WhatsApp before pickup.

What's the difference between the Stepwell and Fatehpur Sikri stops?

Chandboari Stepwell is a 2-hour drive from Jaipur and takes about an hour to visit. Fatehpur Sikri is a 2-hour drive from the Stepwell and also takes about an hour. You can book either one alone, both together, or neither. The driver will take you straight to Agra if you skip both stops.

Do I need to pay the driver for his lunch if we stop to eat?

No. The driver's lunch is not your responsibility. You can stop on the highway for your own meal, and the driver will wait. You pay only for what you eat.

Can the driver guide me through the Stepwell or Fatehpur Sikri?

The driver does not guide you through the sites. You explore on your own, and the driver waits at the parking area. One option includes a guide at Fatehpur Sikri only if you select that add-on at checkout.

What if I want to spend more than an hour at one of the stops?

The itinerary allows an hour at each site, but you can negotiate extra time with the driver. Let him know your preference when he picks you up, and he can adjust the schedule if needed.
