The experience

The tour starts at 7:30 AM on day one with pickup from your hotel in Aurangabad. You travel to Ajanta Caves, then take a public transport bus from the parking area to the cave complex itself. Before the guided walk begins, you have tea or coffee. The guide takes you through all the important caves, explaining the detailed history and architecture of each one: the Buddhist monasteries, the carved pillars, the painted frescoes. After exploring, you return to the parking area and head back to Aurangabad. Lunch is on your own.

Day two starts at 8 AM. You visit Daulatabad Fort first, exploring it with the guide before or after Ellora Caves depending on crowds and weather. At Ellora, the cave complex is split into three groups. The Jain caves are reachable by e-cart, while the others require walking. The guide leads you through the important caves and explains their significance. After Ellora, you visit Bibi Ka Maqbara, known locally as the Mini Taj Mahal, a 17th-century mausoleum that echoes the design of the original. The tour ends with hotel or airport drop-off based on your schedule.
