The experience

The tour starts in Old Delhi, where you ride a tuk-tuk through the narrow lanes of Chandni Chowk, passing the spice, jewelry, and silver markets before a drive-past of the Red Fort. You'll stop for photos at India Gate and the President House, then visit the Lotus Temple, a peaceful Baháʼí House of Worship with its distinctive lotus-shaped architecture. After these Delhi highlights, you travel to Agra in a private air-conditioned car and settle into your hotel for the night.

Day two begins before dawn. You arrive at the Taj Mahal as the sun rises, with your private guide and minimal crowds around you. The soft morning light is when the marble shows its true color. From there, you explore Agra Fort, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and former home of Mughal emperors, followed by a visit to the Tomb of I'timad-ud-Daulah, a marble mausoleum that inspired the Taj Mahal's design.
