The experience

The tour starts at a chocolate factory on the island where you walk the grounds to see how cocoa moves from tree to finished bar. You'll taste several flavors they've created, then make your own chocolate bar to take with you. From there the route climbs into the rainforest to Grand Etang National Park, where you reach an altitude of 582 meters and get a panoramic view back toward the city while spotting mona monkeys and other wildlife in the lush vegetation.

A stop at mountain waterfalls gives you a chance to swim or wade in the river water while local musicians play. The final stretch takes you to Grand Anse Beach, where the water is clear enough to see the sand and you can swim, wade or just sit. Watersports and other entertainment are available if you want them. Throughout the day you'll also take part in a rum tasting that includes spice rum, chocolate rum and Grenada's best rum punch.

The tour runs about five hours total, with the remaining time accounted for in transportation between stops. A live guide who speaks English leads the group, and pickup from your hotel is included. Bottled water and free Wi-Fi are provided.
