The experience
The boat leaves Hydra carrying Greek coffee and a handmade snack, then heads to a fishing location where Captain Yiannis pulls up nets or lines he set earlier. You can help haul them in, ask questions, cast your own fishing pole or handline, or simply sunbathe on deck and read while the island passes. The choice is yours: the day moves at your pace, not a schedule.
Once the fishing is done, the boat heads to a secluded cove accessible only by water. While you swim and snorkel in clear shallows, the captain prepares lunch on the galley using the morning's catch: grilled fish, fried fish, or a traditional fisherman's soup, alongside homemade Greek fava, seasonal fruit, and a homemade chocolate cake. A glass of wine or beer comes with the meal, and water and refreshments flow throughout the seven hours. Everything is cooked from organic ingredients and the captain's own recipes.
The boat has a small cabin for two and a WC. Snorkeling gear is provided. Families with children from age 6 are welcome, and the captain speaks English, Spanish, and French. You arrive as a guest and leave with a full belly and a story about the day you ate fish caught an hour before lunch.

Is this one for you?You choose between a full-day experience (seven hours, fishing and snorkeling with lunch) or a sunset boating-fishing trip. Top questions
What languages is the tour guided in?
Live guide in English, Spanish and French.
Can children come?
Yes. Ticket types: Child (6 to 11 years). Children under 6 can't be included in the booking.
What happens if it rains?
It may be canceled due to bad weather. If that happens, you're offered another date or a refund. Free cancellation up to 24 h before the start.
Can I fish on my own, or do I just watch Captain Yiannis?
You can do both. The captain demonstrates traditional net and line fishing, and you're welcome to cast your own fishing pole or handline if you want to try. If you'd rather sunbathe or read on deck, that's fine too: the boat doesn't move on a fixed itinerary.
What happens if the catch is small or the weather changes the plan?
The captain chooses fishing and swimming locations based on wind and weather each day, so the exact spots shift. The lunch is built around whatever the nets and lines bring up that morning (grilled, fried, or made into a fisherman's soup), so the menu adapts to the catch.
Is snorkeling equipment included, or do I need to bring my own?
Snorkeling gear is provided on the boat. You only need to bring your swimming clothes and a towel. The captain handles the rest.
What's included in the lunch, and are there options for dietary preferences?
Lunch is a full homemade meal of fresh fish (grilled, fried, or in soup), Greek fava, seasonal fruit, and chocolate cake, plus a glass of wine or beer and all water and refreshments. Call the captain before booking if you have dietary restrictions or preferences.
