The experience
How do you fit Santorini's wine scene and a proper dinner into one afternoon without renting a car or navigating between stops yourself? This tour threads two working wineries and a beachfront meal into a single route, with a driver-guide handling the logistics so you can focus on tasting. Anhydrous Estate, founded in 2021, experiments with ancient winemaking techniques to produce modern wines that reflect Santorini's volcanic character. You taste four wines there. Argyros, located on the outskirts of Episkopi-Gonia about 5.5 km southeast of Fira, sits in the heart of its own grape estate with a tasting room overlooking the vineyard. You taste four more wines there, including their ruby-red Mavrotragano, which scored 93 points from Wine Advocate.
The tour ends at a traditional taverna on Monolithos beach, named for the black sand created by centuries of volcanic activity. You order from three mains (vegetarian pasta with spinach, pesto, cashew nuts and goat cheese; chicken souvlaki with hot sauce and rice; or grilled squid with rice and lemon sauce) plus Greek salad and tomato fritters for the table, and a glass of wine or beer. The guide is English-speaking and travels with you in a brand new air-conditioned Mercedes minibus. Pickup and drop-off at your hotel are included, and the whole experience runs roughly five hours from start to finish.
