The experience
The catamaran leaves Ag. Nikolaos and sails through Mirabello Bay, passing Spinalonga Island, a former Venetian fortress, and the Cave of Barbarossa as you move toward the anchorage. Once the boat drops anchor in Kolokitha Bay, the water is yours: grab a snorkel mask and fins from the onboard gear, slip into the turquoise water, and explore the bay floor. The crew sets up a sea scooter and an inflatable water slide on deck for anyone who wants to try them, and stand-up paddleboards sit ready if you'd rather stay on top of the water.
Between swims, the crew serves a Mediterranean lunch made with local organic ingredients, along with unlimited drinks: white wine, beer, soft drinks, espresso, tea and water. Sunbeds and shaded lounges line the deck, so you can dry off and rest whenever you want. Music and free Wi-Fi run throughout the day, and the crew handles the logistics: life jackets, an onboard shower, and a restroom are all there. As the sun drops, the boat heads back toward Ag. Nikolaos, and you watch the light change across Crete's coast from the water.
The catamaran itself is modern and built for comfort, with enough space to move around without feeling crowded. The crew speaks English and knows the bay well enough to point out what you're seeing as you sail. If you're traveling with kids, ask the crew about the box of toys they keep on board, or grab the inflatable flamingo for photos. It's become a tradition on these trips.
