The experience

The boat leaves from Skopelos town on a route that circles the island, stopping at beaches accessible only by water. Stafilos is the closest to town and sits in a bay named after a Minoan king. Kastani has white sand and pine trees that reach the shore, and Limnonari is tucked into a cove where the surrounding pines turn the water green. Between the main beaches, the captain can stop at smaller coves (Milia, Glysteri and others), so you pick where to spend your time in the water. Dives from the boat happen at Limnonari and at stops near Neo Klima on the far side of the island.

The Mamma Mia stops are woven into the same route. Agios Ioannis chapel sits on a rocky outcrop 105 steps above a small beach. The church and cove became famous after the film shot scenes there, and the view from the top looks back toward Alonissos. Kastani beach and the Amarantos cape (marked by two curved pine trees and the split rock formation Drakontoschisma) were also filming locations. The boat passes caves on the small island of Dasia on the way to Neo Klima, and stops at secret beaches like Ftelia and Megalos Pefkos that have no road access.

Can I swim at every beach the boat visits on this Skopelos cruise?

Yes. You choose which beaches to stop at and how long to stay at each one. The boat stops for swimming and diving at every beach you like, and the captain can anchor at smaller coves between the main stops.

What is the Agios Ioannis chapel and how do I visit it?

Agios Ioannis is a small white church perched on a rocky cliff above a cove on Skopelos, famous from the Mamma Mia film. The boat stops at the beach below, and you climb 105 steps up the rocks to reach the chapel and its views back toward Alonissos and the Skopelos coast.

Which beaches does the cruise visit?

The main stops are Milia, Stafilos, Limnonari and Kastani, each with different character: Stafilos has a historic bay, Kastani has white sand and pines, Limnonari is sheltered and green-watered, and Milia is small and quiet. The boat also passes secret coves accessible only by water, like Ftelia and Megalos Pefkos, and can stop at any of them.

What Mamma Mia filming locations does the cruise include?

The tour visits Agios Ioannis chapel and its cove, Kastani beach and the Amarantos cape, all of which appear in the film. The boat also passes the Drakontoschisma rock formation near Amarantos, which looks as if it has been cut by hand.

What time does the boat leave and return?

The departure and return times are flexible, so you can choose the slot that fits your day. The cruise runs seven to eight hours from whenever you depart.

What is included in the price?

Water, snacks and soft drinks are included throughout the day. Lunch can be arranged at any beach or village along the route at your request.
