The experience

The day starts in Kos town itself: you'll walk the old town, see the harbor and the castle, and stand at the famous Hippocrates tree before heading out to the island's interior. Asklipion, one of the world's most significant archaeological sites, comes next. The place where Hippocrates' oath was written and the foundation of Western medicine took shape. Your guide handles the history and context. You move through the ruins at a pace that lets the scale of it sink in.

From there the route climbs to Zia, a traditional village where the streets are narrow enough that cars barely fit. Lunch is optional here: several taverns line the village, and the choice is yours whether to eat or just walk the alleys. The final stop is Kefalos, perched on a hill at the island's edge, with views across the bay that stretch all the way to the water.
