The experience

After your driver picks you up at Katakolo Port, a 30-minute transfer takes you to the meeting point near Savalia Beach, where your guide and horses are waiting. You'll spend about 15 minutes getting to know your horse and learning the basics of control and safety before setting out. The guided ride itself lasts around one hour, moving through peaceful pine forests and along the sandy shoreline. Depending on weather and sea conditions, you have the option to upgrade and ride your horse into the Ionian Sea with your guide: a choice you make when you book.

After dismounting and a short rest, your driver takes you to Kourouta Beach, about 10 minutes away. You have roughly 2.5 hours to spend as you like: swim in the clear water, lie on the sand, or eat at one of the traditional Greek tavernas and cafés along the beachfront. Many beach bars offer free sunbeds and umbrellas if you buy a drink or snack. Your guide can recommend favorite spots when you arrive.

The return journey to Katakolo Port takes about 25 minutes, timed to get you back well before your ship departs. The whole outing runs about 5.5 hours from pickup to drop-off. Your guide speaks English, Italian, French, German and two additional languages.
