The Experience

The day didn’t start perfectly — I forgot my sunglasses in the car, which meant squinting at that first overlook above Balos Lagoon. There’s something about eating outside here: cicadas buzzing so loud you have to half-shout your order.

Falassarna Beach felt huge after Balos — wide open sand and barely anyone around except a few families under umbrellas and some teenagers playing music off their phones (one song on repeat for an hour). We skipped cocktails but dipped our feet in again before heading back. The ride home was quieter; I watched the light change over the hills and thought about how easy it is to forget time here.
