The Experience

You arrive at a terrace overlooking a valley planted with avocados, olives and oranges. The brewery makes five styles—Lager, Pilsner, Pale Ale, Weiss and Dunkel—all fresh, which means no preservatives and unpasteurised. You can book a package in advance or decide on the spot what you want: a beer tasting alone, a tasting paired with meze, a full meal from the open-air kitchen, or a tour of the production area followed by a tasting. The kitchen runs from noon to 7pm, and you can reach them via WhatsApp or Viber to reserve ahead.

The brewery is one of the few open breweries in Greece where visitors can see the production area during operating hours. If you want the tour, it takes about two hours and children under 13 participate free. On Sundays the brewery does not run tours, but the restaurant and terrace stay open. The setting itself is the draw—sitting back in the middle of a Cretan landscape, surrounded by the trees that define the region, with no rush to move on.

The location works as a stop on the way back from Balos, Elafonisi or Paleochora, or as a base for combining a hike or bike ride through the surrounding countryside. The terrace is wheelchair accessible, and all areas and surfaces accommodate wheelchairs. Infants can ride in a pram or stroller, and service animals are welcome. Public transportation options are available nearby if you do not have a car.
