Athens Riviera Snorkeling: Sunset Sea Kayaking Tour
You paddle your own kayak, not watch from one.
Small-group sea kayaking in Athens Riviera combines paddling through the Saronic Gulf with optional snorkeling and a sunset stop on a remote island. After a brief instructional session, you paddle at your own pace for about two and a half hours, with a chance to explore the coastline, stop on a quiet beach, and use snorkeling equipment to see sea life. The trip ends on a small island just before sunset, timed so you catch the light over the water.

The experience
You operate the kayak from the start. After a short briefing from a certified guide, you push off from Kavouri Beach into the warm waters of the Saronic Gulf and set your own pace along the diverse coastline. The paddle covers about 2.5 kilometers with ease: the guide leads, but you control the speed and how long you linger at each point. The water is clear enough that snorkeling gear is worth using, and the operator provides it. Whether you take it into the water is your call.
The route builds in two stops. The first is a remote beach where you can rest and swim. The second, about 100 meters from the finish point, sits on a small island timed to catch the sunset. You'll have maybe the best light of the Athenian Riviera from there, and the trip ends as the sun drops. The whole outing runs about three hours from start to finish, including the briefing and all the stops.
You choose where to meet: pickup from your hotel, the starting point at Kavouri Beach, or Elliniko Metro Station. The operator provides kayaking gear, a certified guide in English, public liability insurance, and photos from the excursion. Children are welcome from age 10 onward. The activity suits all fitness levels, though it's not recommended for travelers with spinal injuries, pregnancy, or poor cardiovascular health.
