The experience

You'll work through three different Ghanaian dishes (red red, palaver sauce and others you can request) with a patient, knowledgeable chef who walks you through each step of the preparation. This is hands-on: you're doing the cooking, not watching a demonstration. The chef explains the technique and the reasoning behind each ingredient and method as you go, so you understand not just what to do but why it works. At the end of the two hours, you get written recipes and instructions for everything you've made, detailed enough to guide you through the dishes in your own kitchen back home.

The workshop is private, which means you pick the time that suits your schedule in Cape Coast. Your chef meets you there, and pickup from your hotel or accommodation is included. You'll taste what you've cooked as part of the class, and lunch is provided. Bottled water is on hand throughout. If another guest happens to book the same time slot, the chef may combine the groups, but the experience stays focused on teaching you the skills and the recipes.
