The experience
Unlike a bus tour locked into fixed stops or a walking tour that covers only one district, a private taxi lets you move through Berlin on your own terms. You're picked up from your hotel, apartment or the airport, then driven through both halves of the city, from the Reichstag and Brandenburg Gate to Checkpoint Charlie, the East Side Gallery and Alexanderplatz. The guide narrates as you go, pointing out Karl-Marx-Allee, the Oberbaum Bridge, and the Topography of Terror. When something catches your eye, you stop.
The route typically includes Gendarmenmarkt, the New Synagogue, Unter den Linden, Potsdamer Platz and the Sony Center on the western side. Nikolaiviertel and the Berlin City Hall anchor the old city center. Hackesche Höfe (the restored Art Nouveau courtyard complex with shops and galleries) is a recommended stop where you can walk around or browse. You also pass through working neighborhoods like Kreuzberg and Friedrichshain, which show a different Berlin than the postcard landmarks. The Tiergarten, the Victory Column and Kurfürstendamm round out the western route. Parking fees and the taxi tariff (7% VAT) are included. The city tour itself carries 19% VAT.
The vehicle is wheelchair-accessible with a raised passenger seat and space for a folded wheelchair in the rear. Child seats are available for infants from six months and toddlers up to three years. You can also bring your own car seat. The tour runs 4 to 6 hours depending on traffic, your interests and how long you spend at each stop. WiFi is on board, and the air-conditioned SUV means you're comfortable between stops.

Top questions
What languages is the tour guided in?
Live guide in English and German.
Can children come?
Yes. Ticket types: Youth (12 to 17 years); Child (7 to 11 years); Infant (under 7): free.
Can I choose which landmarks to see, or is the route fixed?
The route is flexible. You tell the guide what interests you (whether that's the Reichstag, KaDeWe department store, the Berlin Zoo, or neighborhoods like Friedrichshain), and stops can be adjusted or skipped based on your preferences and time.
What's included in the price, and what costs extra?
The taxi ride and city tour are both included, along with parking fees, pickup from your hotel or apartment, and WiFi on board. Gratuities and lunch are not included. If you're picked up from Berlin airport (BER) or outside the S-Bahn ring, that distance is charged at the standard Berlin taxi tariff.
Is Hackesche Höfe really worth a stop?
Hackesche Höfe is a restored 1908 Art Nouveau courtyard complex with nine interconnected courtyards, now filled with galleries, shops and cafes. The courtyards were originally designed to mix work and living space, and today they're one of the most popular spots for visitors exploring Berlin's old city center.
How does a private taxi tour compare to a bus tour?
A bus tour runs on a fixed schedule and stops only at set points. A private taxi lets you stop almost anywhere (for a photo, a coffee break, or a closer look at a building), and you see neighborhoods beyond the main tourist route, not just the highlights.
What if I want to visit the Berlin Zoo or KaDeWe department store?
Both are on the recommended stops list and can be included in your tour. The Zoo is one of the oldest in Germany with around 16,000 animals. KaDeWe is continental Europe's largest single department store with a famous gourmet floor. You decide whether to stop, how long to stay, or to skip them entirely.
