The experience
FlyStation's flight chamber is 4.5 meters across and 19 meters tall with a perfectly round shape and two levels of glass walls: transparent on all sides so friends and family watch from the viewing area while you're in the air. The setup lets you fly at any speed, from gentle hovering to fast-moving freefall, all with your instructor right there controlling the wind and steadying you as needed. No previous skydiving or flying experience is required. The technology handles the physics while you focus on the sensation.
You'll arrive an hour before your flight time to check in at the Neufahrn bei Freising location, fill out a waiver, and attend a 20-minute briefing that covers body position, hand signals and what to expect in the chamber. After gearing up in your flight suit, helmet and goggles, your instructor leads you into the chamber and guides you through the whole flight. Once your group finishes flying, the instructor performs an air show, a demonstration of advanced bodyflying moves, so you see what's possible in the wind tunnel. You'll walk out with a personalized certificate and the option to buy photos or video of your flight if the facility captured them.
The whole visit runs about 90 minutes. The facility is wheelchair accessible, near public transportation, and welcomes children from age 4. Anyone under 18 needs a parent or guardian present. Pregnant travelers and anyone with shoulder dislocations, acute injuries or open wounds should skip this one.
Is this one for you?Book the 2-minute flight if you want to try the sensation and see what bodyflying feels like. Choose 4 minutes if you want time to relax into the freefall and practice body control with your instructor's feedback.
