The experience

The tour starts in Düsseldorf's Old Town and moves onto a Segway for the full route: no walking, no footsore legs by the end. You'll cross the Rhine over the Rheinkniebrücke, a bridge that shaped cable-stayed bridge design across Germany, then ride through riverside meadows with views back toward the city skyline. The guide leads at a pace you control. You're free to speed up and enjoy the ride.

Back on the city side, the route passes the Tonhalle concert hall, known for its expressionist architecture, then cuts through the Old Town's maze of bars and breweries (the so-called "longest bar counter in the world"), where you'll stop at brewery Ürige to drink a typical Düsseldorf beer. You'll see Burgpark and the government quarter before heading to Media Harbor, with its office towers and modern architecture, then finish at Königsallee, the heart of the fashion district lined with luxury brand shops.

Three departure times are available throughout the day. The guide speaks English or German. Helmets and Segways are included. You'll need to be at least 18 and weigh between 45 and 118 kg to ride. Public transportation stops are nearby if you need an alternative way back.
