The experience

Cologne Cathedral dominates the skyline from almost everywhere in the city, and the scavenger hunt starts right there at the main train station. The box arrives by post within four working days of booking and contains everything you need: 16 puzzles, directions between stops, and information cards for each station. You move through the city solving clues at your own pace, stopping as long as you want at any attraction or for a coffee break.

The route takes you past the town hall, through Heumarkt (the traditional heart of Cologne's Carnival), down the narrow Altstadtgassen alleys lined with traditional pubs, and to the old fish market. You'll walk along the Rhine and discover corners of the old town most visitors miss. Since you control the timing, you can split the hunt across two days if you prefer, or finish it in one afternoon.
