The experience

One hour on the snow with an instructor who knows how to build your foundation. You start with gear fitting (the instructor makes sure your skis or board sit right), then moves into the basics: stance, balance, how to control your edges. The beginner slopes are where you put it together, sliding down under guidance rather than watching a demonstration. Certified instructors teach in English or Russian, so language is not a barrier.

Pricing runs 150 GEL for a one-hour private lesson, or 125 GEL if you buy the lift ticket first. The ticket itself costs 10 USD. You pay the instructor the balance in cash (either USD or GEL) after you arrive. Longer sessions cost more: two hours runs 300 GEL (250 with ticket), three hours 430 GEL (380 with ticket). If you're bringing a friend, a two-person, two-hour lesson costs 340 GEL with the ticket discount. The mountain sits at high altitude, so it suits all fitness levels but is not recommended for travelers with poor cardiovascular health. Children from age 5 can take lessons.
