The experience

The day starts at Prometheus Cave, 20 km northwest of Kutaisi, where a concrete path winds through six large chambers lit by colored lighting and accompanied by classical music playing softly in the background. The route leads to a 40-meter underground lake, the cave's deepest point. From there, the tour moves to Martvili Canyon in the Samegrelo region, where you board a boat to travel through a gorge about 2,400 meters long and 20 to 25 meters deep, passing turquoise water, several waterfalls, and dense greenery on either side.

The third stop is Okatse, a three-step waterfall cascade located at 1,000 meters altitude. Stairs and footpaths wind through the canyon and surrounding forest, offering views down into the gorge. From there, a short walk of about two kilometers leads to Lomina Lake, nestled in the middle of the forest. The lake sits in a clearing where you can swim and rest before the return to Kutaisi.

An air-conditioned vehicle transports you between all four sites, and your guide speaks English or Russian throughout the day. Children shorter than 100 cm cannot enter Martvili Canyon, and the tour is not recommended for travelers with spinal injuries, poor cardiovascular health, or pregnancy. The daily schedule (except Mondays) means you can book without waiting for a group departure.
