The experience

The day starts with a transfer from your inn at 8:20, arriving at the reef island by 10 a.m. with a snack already waiting. You'll spend your first ninety minutes snorkeling in a coral garden here, then break for an aperitif and lunch from 12:15 to 1:15. The rest of the afternoon is yours to swim and relax in the pools before the boat moves on.

At 3:15 p.m. you arrive at Tiputa pass, where the guide will point out dolphins if they're moving through the channel. The final snorkeling stop is the aquarium: a shallow reef section where the coral and fish density makes it feel like a tank. All snorkeling gear is provided, and the guide speaks English or French, so you can follow the commentary without arranging translation. The boat returns you to Ohotu pier by 4:30 p.m., then back to your accommodation.
