The experience

Your hotel pickup happens in the late afternoon, and the drive to Château de Vaux-le-Vicomte takes you out of Paris to the 17th-century estate that inspired Versailles. Once you arrive, you have a 45-minute self-drive golf cart rental to explore the gardens. One cart holds up to four adults, or three adults with two children under ten. Larger groups are split across two carts. The castle itself is explored by audio guide, so you move through the decorated hallways and galleries at your own speed.

Dinner happens outdoors in the gardens with views of the illuminated château, weather permitting. If conditions turn, the meal moves to a marquee. You'll have a 3-course menu (chosen at booking), one glass of Champagne, half a bottle of wine, water or soda, and coffee. After the meal comes a fireworks display. The luxury car departs at 11:30pm for the drive back to your hotel, though you can request an earlier pickup by contacting the château at least two hours before. Bring a jacket, evening temperatures drop.

A credit card deposit of 200 euros per golf cart is required at arrival. Each driver in your party must hold a valid driving license. Children from age three are welcome, and infants under three travel free. If anyone has dietary needs or allergies, note them in the booking's special requirements field when you reserve.
