The experience

The day starts with pickup at your hotel in Reims or Epernay, then moves through the region's champagne houses on the scenic tourist route. You'll taste at four different producers and visit one UNESCO-classified cellar, each stop timed into a single flowing day. A gastronomic lunch at one of the region's best restaurants is included, with the menu pre-ordered to fit the day's rhythm.

Between tastings, the route passes through working vineyards where you stop for a panoramic view, and includes a visit to Dom Pérignon's tomb. The tour also covers the famous Champagne Avenue in Epernay, the heart of the region's sparkling wine trade. An air-conditioned vehicle and a guide fluent in English or French keep the pace comfortable across the eight to nine hours.

Drop-off happens at your hotel or any destination in the Reims or Epernay areas. Bottled water is provided throughout. If you're based in Paris, pickup and return can be arranged for an additional cost. Other starting points outside the region require a message to the operator.
