The experience

The sidecar holds two people and the arrangement is part of the point: one passenger sits in the sidecar itself, the other behind the driver on the motorcycle. Halfway through, you can switch. The vehicle is a retro-style machine, and the ride is open-air: no roof, no glass between you and the streets. You get gloves, goggles if you need them, and a helmet. Hotel pickup and drop-off come with all options except the 1-hour Classic Tour, which departs from a fixed point in the city.

The driver is both pilot and guide. As you move through the 8th, 9th and 5th arrondissements, past the Eiffel Tower, the Arc de Triomphe and the Grands Boulevards, they share anecdotes about the neighborhoods and point out cultural landmarks: the Arènes de Lutèce (a 1st-century Roman amphitheater now a public park), Saint-Germain-des-Prés, Île de la Cité with Notre-Dame and Sainte-Chapelle, Place du Tertre in Montmartre, and the Sacré-Cœur Basilica. The route can be tailored to your interests. If you book a longer option: the Half Day (3.5 hours) or Full Day (7 hours), you can add Versailles or Giverny instead of staying within Paris proper.

Five durations are available. The Classic Tour runs 1 hour. The Great Escape and Retro by Night tours are each 1.5 hours. The night tour includes a glass of champagne. The Half Day is 3.5 hours, and the Full Day is 7 hours. All tours except the Classic include hotel pickup and drop-off. The guide speaks English or French.
