The experience
How do you fit the Louvre, Versailles, and a dozen other museums into one trip without spending half your time in queues? The Museum Pass solves that by giving you skip-the-line access to over 50 permanent collections across Paris, from the 1st Arrondissement to the outer suburbs. The pass covers the major names (Versailles Palace, Musée d'Orsay, Centre Pompidou, L'Arc de Triomphe, L'Orangerie) alongside smaller museums most visitors miss: the Picasso Museum, the Army Museum, the Guimet Museum for Asian art, the Museum of Music, and the Cité de l'Architecture et du Patrimoine. You also get entry to châteaux like Chantilly Castle and Château de Rambouillet, plus the Archaeological Crypt beneath Île de la Cité.
The pass is valid for 2, 4, or 6 consecutive calendar days, meaning you pick your duration based on how many museums you want to see. You'll receive it by email 24 hours before your first day of use. Most museums open between 9am and 11am and stay open until 5pm or later, so you can plan your own itinerary without a guide or fixed schedule. A few major sites (the Louvre, Versailles, Musée de l'Orangerie, and Sainte-Chapelle) require a free timed-entry reservation, but the pass covers the booking fee. Security checks are standard at all venues, and during peak season, wait times can still add up at the busiest spots like the Louvre and Orsay, even with the pass.
Wheelchair access is available throughout the network, and public transport options connect most museums. The pass is yours to use however you want: spend a full day at Versailles, hit three smaller museums the next morning, or skip ahead to a château outside the city. You're not locked into any route or timing. Just walk in with your pass and go.

Is this one for you?Choose the 2-day pass if you're hitting only the top three or four museums; go for 4 days if you want the major sites plus a few smaller collections; pick 6 days if you're staying a week and want to include the châteaux outside the city. The pass works best when you plan your own route and move at your own pace. There's no guide, no group, and no fixed itinerary, so you're free to spend two hours at one museum or just thirty minutes at another.

Top questions
Can children come?
Yes. Ticket types: Infant (under 19): free.
Can I visit the Louvre and Versailles on the same day with this pass?
Yes. The Louvre opens at 9am and closes at 6pm. Versailles opens at 9am and closes at 6:30pm. Both require a free timed-entry reservation (included with the pass), so you'd need to book separate time slots. A single day is tight for both, but you can enter each one during your reserved window.
Do I have to use all my days in a row, or can I skip days?
The pass is valid for consecutive calendar days only, starting from your first day of use. You can't pause it or use it on separate weeks. If you buy the 4-day pass, it covers four days in a row whether you visit museums all four days or not.
What happens if I want to hear about the art instead of just looking at it?
Audio guides are available for rent at individual museums, but they're not included with the pass. You arrange and pay for them separately at each venue if you want one.
Which museums are hardest to get into without this pass?
The Louvre, Versailles Palace, Musée d'Orsay, and Musée de l'Orangerie draw the longest lines, especially in summer. The pass lets you skip the ticket queue at all of them, though you still need the free timed-entry slot and will go through security screening like everyone else.
Are there museums on this pass that are actually worth visiting, or is it just the famous ones?
The pass includes the Picasso Museum, the Guimet Museum (Asian art), the Army Museum with Napoleon's tomb, the Cité de l'Architecture et du Patrimoine, and the Museum of Music: each one substantial enough to spend an hour or more. You also get access to châteaux like Chantilly and Rambouillet, which most day-trippers never reach.
