Paris Louvre: Mona Lisa & Masterpieces with Fast-Track Entry
Two Hours Inside the Louvre Without the Queue
You arrive 15 minutes early, skip the entry queue with pre-reserved tickets, and spend two hours with a licensed guide covering the Louvre's most famous works — Mona Lisa, Venus de Milo, Winged Victory — in a group of no more than six. Headsets help you hear clearly, and you're free to stay and explore independently after the tour ends.
Step-by-step itinerary
Louvre Museum guided highlights tour
- Meet small group outside Louvre
- Enter Louvre through Pyramid
- Enjoy guided visit of masterpieces
- See Mona Lisa and Venus de Milo
- Explore galleries with expert guide
The Experience
You're standing outside the glass pyramid at 8:45am, and your group of six is already moving toward the entrance while hundreds wait in the ticket line behind you. Pre-reserved tickets mean no security scramble, no "which line is faster" debate — you go straight through with your guide, and the museum opens in front of you instead of around you. The Louvre gets 9 million visitors a year, which sounds abstract until you're actually there and realize most of them arrived without a plan. Your timed entry changes that completely.
The guide meets you outside the pyramid, hands out headsets so you can hear over the crowd, and walks you through a route that hits the pieces people actually came for. Mona Lisa first — and yes, it's smaller than you expect, but your guide explains why Leonardo painted it that way, what the background means, why it's been stolen and vandalized and why people still line up to stand in front of it. Then Venus de Milo, the Winged Victory of Samothrace, the Egyptian antiquities that anchor the whole collection. Two hours sounds short until you realize you're not wandering, not backtracking, not standing in front of a painting trying to remember if you've already seen it. The pace is efficient without feeling rushed, and you leave with actual context instead of just photos.
After the tour ends, you can stay inside the Louvre as long as you want — your ticket doesn't expire, and now you know the layout well enough to explore on your own. Most people do stay, wandering into the wings their guide mentioned, finding smaller galleries they wouldn't have found alone. The confidence from two hours of expert narration makes the rest of the museum feel navigable instead of overwhelming.
What’s included

Do I need to buy a separate ticket if I have a Paris Museum Pass?
No. If you hold a valid Museum Pass, you can enter the Louvre directly without purchasing a ticket. However, you still need to book the guided tour separately to join the group and guide.
What if I'm under 18 or an EEA resident under 26?
Museum entry is free with valid ID and proof of residency, but you must still reserve and pay for the guided tour itself to participate.
Can I leave the Louvre and come back in later?
No. Once you exit, your ticket cannot be reused. Plan to stay inside for the duration of your visit.
What's not allowed inside the museum?
No backpacks, large bags, or umbrellas. Small bags and day packs may be permitted depending on size — check with your guide at the meeting point.
What if there's a strike and the Louvre closes?
The Louvre occasionally closes without notice due to strikes. If this happens, refunds are not available. You'd need to rebook for another date.
How early do I need to arrive?
Arrive 15 minutes before the tour start time at the designated meeting point outside the pyramid. Timed entry requires punctuality, and the tour cannot be joined after it begins.
Is there a security line I have to go through?
Yes. All visitors pass through security screening to enter the museum. In high season, this line can be long, so arriving early helps.
Can children under 2 join the tour?
No. Children aged 2 and younger are not permitted on this tour.
