The Experience

I didn’t expect to feel so much like a local just by hopping into a pedicab in Nice. Our driver—his name was Marc, I think—waved at someone as we set off from Massena Square, which made me laugh because it felt like he knew half the city. We stopped at Garibaldi Square too; Marc told us stories about Garibaldi himself (he did this dramatic gesture with his hands). Honestly, I kept forgetting to take pictures because I was too busy listening or just watching people go by. We even crossed Quai des États-Unis slowly enough that I could see couples leaning against the railings, sharing ice cream. The whole tour only took about 100 minutes but somehow it felt longer—in a good way.
