The day starts at Gordes, the viewpoint stop that frames the village against the valley below, then moves into the alleys where a weekly market runs on Tuesday mornings if your timing aligns. From there you drive to Sénanque Abbey, a 12th-century monastery surrounded by lavender fields from June through July; entry to the shop is free, though the abbey itself is not a full interior tour on this itinerary.

Roussillon comes next, and the Ocher Trail—the main named stop—is the old extraction site converted into a walking path through rust-colored cliffs and quarried walls. The entrance fee is included. After that walk, you have free time loose in the village itself, which is when most travelers eat. The colorful buildings and narrow streets are the draw here, and the pace is yours to set.

The day closes at Fontaine-de-Vaucluse, where you walk along the Sorgue river to watch the spring water emerge and flow.
