The Experience

The tour starts with pickup from your Toulouse accommodation in an air-conditioned minivan, then heads into the Fronton appellation where two winemakers are waiting. At each estate, the owner or winemaker walks you through the vineyard and cellar, explaining the soil, the grape varieties and the decisions that shape the wine—not a canned speech, but a real conversation about how they work. Afterward you move to the tasting room for the wines themselves.

Five wines from each winery go into the tasting, and you work through them with a tasting sheet and an aroma kit so you can actually identify what's in the glass instead of just guessing. The guide is there to ask questions and to point out what the sheet is hinting at—the tannin structure, the fruit character, the finish—so the wines start to make sense. This is the part most wine tours skip: the tools to taste properly, not just the wine.
