The experience

Most visitors spend their first hour at the gate. You walk in with a ticket already loaded on your phone. Disneyland Paris sits just 35 minutes from the center of Paris on the RER A train, which means you can sleep in your hotel and still catch opening, but only if you've sorted entry before you arrive. A 1-day ticket locks you into one park. The 2-park option lets you hop between Disneyland Paris and Walt Disney Studios Park the same day, which changes what's actually possible in those hours.

Disneyland Paris spreads across five themed lands: Main Street U.S.A., Frontierland, Adventureland, Fantasyland and Discoveryland. Character meet-and-greets happen throughout the day, and the Disney Tales of Magic nighttime show runs most evenings. Walt Disney Studios Park is the newer half. It's where you find the World of Frozen, Marvel Avengers Campus, and the Pixar worlds (Ratatouille, Toy Story, Finding Nemo). The Disney Cascade of Lights closes the night with fireworks and water screens on the lake. If you're choosing between one park and two, the difference is whether you're picking a focus or trying to see both.

Download the Disneyland Paris app before you go. You can sync your booking ticket there and book restaurants in advance, which saves time during the day. The app also sells Disney Premier Access add-ons that let you skip the regular queue on the most popular rides. It costs extra, but if you're visiting in peak season or traveling with young kids who tire fast, it's worth calculating. Bring your ID. The gate staff ask for it sometimes. Printed tickets work just as well as mobile ones, so if your phone dies, you're covered.

One thing to know: from August 8 to 23, 2026, the RER A line between Vincennes and Noisy-le-Grand is closed for maintenance, and replacement buses run instead. If you're traveling those dates, add 20 or 30 minutes to your journey and leave earlier. Strollers are fine for small children, and the parks are wheelchair accessible throughout. Some attractions have height or health restrictions, so check the app for specific rides before you line up.
