The experience
Émilie, a sommelier who has worked in South Africa, England and Ireland, designed this tour around the ten vineyards scattered around Calvi. She picks one or two each time to show the diversity of Corsican wines: the people behind them, the flavours, and how the landscape shapes what grows there. You'll drive to the first vineyard, where the day begins with a walk through the vines themselves, then move into the cellar to see how the wine is made. After that comes a full tasting of their range, so you get to understand what makes each one distinct.
The second vineyard follows the same rhythm: another cellar, another tasting, another look at how a different producer approaches their craft. Between the two stops and the tastings, you'll spend a couple of hours on the vineyard grounds. At the end, you sit down to a fresh seasonal picnic (local produce, sparkling water, still water) eaten right there among the vines. You can buy bottles if something speaks to you, but there's no pressure to. Leika, Émilie's dog, is part of the tour. She's described as the real star of the show.
