Step-by-step itinerary
Visit two vineyards and taste wines
- Drive from Nice to Bellet Hill
- Tour large modern estate winery
- Taste organic Rosé, Red, White wines
- Tour small family estate winery
- Taste local Provence flavors and products
The experience
Bellet Hill sits just outside Nice and holds some of the French Riviera's smallest and most distinctive vineyards. This tour takes you to two of them in a single morning or afternoon: one large modern estate (typically Château de Crémat, described as the smartest winery of Nice) and one small family domaine. The contrast is the point. You see how a larger operation runs differently from a family-run vineyard, and taste the wines each one produces. A professional guide leads the group in English or French, and the minivan picks you up at your Nice hotel before heading out.
Each vineyard visit runs at least an hour, so you have real time to walk the grounds, ask questions and understand what you're tasting. Along with the wines (organic rosé, red and white) you'll sample Provençal flavors: olive oil, olive paste, fruity marmalade, tarts both sweet and savory, olive oil bread and other local products the guide brings. The wine tasting itself costs around 25 euros per person per winery, paid on the spot at each estate. Between the two stops, there's a short drive through Nice itself, so you get a glimpse of the city on the way.
The tour runs four hours total and fits either a morning or afternoon slot. Groups stay small and semi-private, so you're not part of a large crowd. If you have a preference for one of the four vineyards the operator works with, you can request it when you book: otherwise they'll confirm which estates are available after your reservation goes through. Hotel pickup and drop-off are included, as is transport by air-conditioned minivan.
