Beaune Wine Tasting: Premier & Grand Crus with Sommelier
A sommelier who knows the winemakers personally walks you through 35 years of Burgundy in two hours.
A private wine tasting in Beaune where you taste 7 Premier and Grand Cru wines—3 white, 4 red—guided by a sommelier with deep knowledge of Burgundy's producers and terroirs. The tasting is tailored to your questions in French or English, and every wine you taste is available to buy and ship home. Minimum age 18.
The Experience
You sit in a dedicated tasting room in central Beaune with a sommelier who has spent more than 35 years working with Burgundy wines and knows the winemakers, the land and the stories behind each bottle. This is not a group experience—the tasting is built around what you want to know. You taste 7 wines selected from different producers: Rully, Meursault and Chablis among the whites; Savigny, Nuits-Saint-Georges, Corton and Clos-Vougeot among the reds. Each one represents a different appellation and a different face of Burgundy.
The sommelier pours and talks through the wines at a pace you set, answering the questions that come up as you taste. You get a tasting sheet to follow along, and the whole session runs between 90 minutes and two hours. The room itself holds a shop with over 200 Burgundy wines by the glass and bottle, including old vintages back to 1858, so if a wine strikes you during the tasting, you can buy it on the spot. Bottles ship worldwide, so you are not carrying them home in your luggage.
The tasting room is wheelchair accessible, with free parking nearby and public transport options close by. You can book in English or French, and the minimum age is 18.
