The Experience
Two departures run daily at 9:00am and 3:30pm, both starting within walking distance of Aix's historic center. The guide — Vincent Thomas, who founded the company — leads every tour himself and adjusts the route and pace to match your cycling skill level, whether you're a beginner finding your balance on technical terrain or an intermediate rider comfortable with steep descents. You'll ride approximately 25 km across rugged trails with significant climbs and downhills around Mont Sainte-Victoire, the mountain that Cézanne painted dozens of times. The eMTB motor handles the steep uphills, so the effort stays manageable even if you're not a competitive cyclist.
The tour stops at several viewpoints scattered across the landscape — places where the terrain opens up and you can see why Cézanne kept returning to this mountain. These breaks give you time to rehydrate, take photos or video, and catch your breath. The guide carries bottled water for the ride and after, and you'll wear a helmet throughout. Modern eMTBs come sized to your height (minimum 1.50m), so the bike fits your proportions and handling. The landscape itself is the main event: art, culture and the natural setting combine as you move through the terrain.
The tour operates in all weather, so dress for cycling conditions and bring gloves if you're riding in winter. Heavy rain or forest fire alerts can force cancellations, and a minimum of 2 people must book for the tour to run — check availability when you reserve. Children are welcome from age 9 (or minimum height 1.50m). The guide speaks English and French, so commentary and instructions come in whichever language suits your group.

Do I need to be an experienced mountain biker to ride this tour?
No — the guide tailors the experience to your skill level, whether you're a beginner or intermediate rider. You do need to be comfortable riding a bicycle on your own, and the minimum age is 9 years old (or 1.50m height). The eMTB motor removes the hardest part of climbing steep terrain.
What exactly is Mont Sainte-Victoire and why does it matter for this tour?
