Walk Helsinki's landmarks, then step into rural Finland on an island

A guided city tour of Helsinki covering Senate Square, Uspenski Cathedral, Helsinki Cathedral, and Market Square, followed by a visit to Seurasaari Island's open-air museum of historic wooden buildings from across Finland. The tour runs 5 to 6 hours, includes an English- or Spanish-speaking guide and all bus and tram tickets; you meet around 10 am and return by public transport at the end.

5h–6h

The Experience

The tour starts at a designated meeting point in Helsinki around 10 am. Your guide leads you through the city's main cultural landmarks: Senate Square, where the white neoclassical Helsinki Cathedral sits at the top of the steps; Uspenski Cathedral, the Eastern Orthodox church that stands out against the skyline; and Market Square, where locals shop and eat. You'll also pass Helsinki Central Station. After a lunch break, the group heads to Seurasaari Island by public transport.

Seurasaari is an open-air museum of wooden buildings moved from villages and farms across Finland. Walking through the rural villages, you see how farmers and villagers lived—the houses, the layout, the way the communities were built. It's a direct look at traditional Finnish life and heritage without the museum-building feel. The guide walks you through, explaining what you're seeing as you go.

At the end of the tour, you take public transportation back to the meeting point. All bus and tram tickets for the day are included, so you don't buy them separately. The guide speaks English or Spanish depending on the group.

Do I need to bring my own lunch, or is food included?

Food and drinks are not included in the tour. The guide builds in a lunch break so you can eat, but you'll need to buy your own meal—either before the island visit or in the city during the first part of the tour.

Is this tour shared with other people, or private?

The tour is shared; you'll be in a group with other travelers. Minimum participation numbers apply, and the operator reserves the right to cancel and offer an alternative or full refund if not enough people book.

What's the difference between Uspenski Cathedral and Helsinki Cathedral?

Uspenski Cathedral is an Eastern Orthodox cathedral you see from outside during the city walk. Helsinki Cathedral is the biggest cathedral church in Finland, and the tour includes entry so you can go inside and explore it.

Can I get back to my hotel after the tour ends, or do I need to arrange my own transport?

You return to the meeting point by public transport at the end of the tour. Public transportation options are available nearby if you need to get elsewhere from there, but the tour itself doesn't include transport to your hotel.
