The experience

The tour starts at a designated meeting point in Helsinki around 10 am. Your guide leads you through the city's main cultural landmarks: Senate Square, where the white neoclassical Helsinki Cathedral sits at the top of the steps; Uspenski Cathedral, the Eastern Orthodox church that stands out against the skyline; and Market Square, where locals shop and eat. You'll also pass Helsinki Central Station. After a lunch break, the group heads to Seurasaari Island by public transport.

Seurasaari is an open-air museum of wooden buildings moved from villages and farms across Finland. Walking through the rural villages, you see how farmers and villagers lived: the houses, the layout, the way the communities were built. It's a direct look at traditional Finnish life and heritage without the museum-building feel. The guide walks you through, explaining what you're seeing as you go.

At the end of the tour, you take public transportation back to the meeting point. All bus and tram tickets for the day are included, so you don't buy them separately. The guide speaks English or Spanish depending on the group.
