The Arctic Spa Experience is a three-hour activity at Aito Igloo & Spa Resort combining natural hot springs, Finnish sauna and northern lights viewing. You soak in mineral-rich waters under the Arctic sky, experience the heat-and-cold contrast of the traditional sauna, and watch for the lights if conditions allow. A guide leads the experience in multiple languages.

The experience

The day starts at Aito Igloo & Spa Resort, where you move between the Volcanic Lounge, outdoor jacuzzi and natural hot springs: each one a different temperature and mineral composition. The practical time in the water runs about ninety minutes, enough to feel the mineral-rich soak work into tired muscles without rushing through it. A bathrobe, slippers and towel are provided, along with natural shower and shampoo products for after.

The Finnish sauna is the pivot point: you sit in the heat and steam, then step directly into the Arctic air outside, a contrast that leaves you feeling sharp and awake rather than drowsy. The Vitality Pool and steam room extend the experience, and lake swimming is an option if you want it. A guide in English, Spanish, Italian, French or another language walks you through each transition and explains what the temperature shifts do to your body.

Northern lights viewing is built into the timing, so if the aurora is active that night, you'll be positioned to see it. Departure times vary depending on the season and the guide's schedule, so check the confirmation email the resort sends for your exact pickup. Public transportation runs nearby if you prefer to meet the group at the resort instead.
