The Experience
The day starts at the Go Dirty Tours base in Nadi with a safety briefing and test drive before you head out on your own quad. You'll pass the Sri Siva Subramaniya Temple—the biggest Hindu temple in the South Pacific—then turn onto the back roads where the off-roading begins. The Nakala Mountains are where the ride gets real: you'll splash through mud puddles (seasonal), zip past cane fields, and climb higher into the pine forest before stopping on a mountain plateau that overlooks the Mamanuca Islands. Light snacks and bottled water are waiting there.
From the plateau, it's another 11km inward to Yavuna Village, and this is the part most ATV tours skip. Go Dirty Tours has exclusive access, so you'll see village life as it actually happens—no staged performances, no tourist shows. You meet the local children and experience how people spend their days here. The ride back winds through tracks to the main road through Nadi town, with a short stop at a local beach before you return to base.
A local guide leads the whole experience and shares stories about Fiji's history, the warriors, and village culture along the way. The tour runs 3 to 4 hours total. You'll need a valid driver's license to operate a quad; riders aged 16 and 17 can drive if they hold a valid license, otherwise they share a two-seater bike with an adult. Children from age 5 can ride as passengers with an adult driver. Bring your license, closed-toe shoes, sunscreen and a change of clothes—the mud is real.
