The experience
York Cocoa Works walks you through the whole chocolate-making process in 45 minutes. An expert chocolate maker shares how they source cocoa beans and transform them into finished bars, truffles and cakes. You get a look into the working manufactory itself, so you see the equipment and the steps that turn raw beans into the chocolate you'll taste.
The tasting is led by a cocoa connoisseur who guides you through a range of single-origin chocolates. You'll taste the different strengths and flavor notes across their range, learning how origin and roasting change what ends up in your mouth. After the session, you move into the Cocoa Cafe with a discount voucher that works across their whole product range: chocolates, cakes, and the materials if you want to make your own treats on the spot.
