Luxury Sailing Day from Lymington: Champagne, Meal & Solent Swim
The crew handles the sailing and the cooking while you decide how involved to get at the helm.
A luxury sailing day from Lymington takes you out on the Solent aboard a modern 45–50 ft Jeanneau yacht, with champagne on arrival, a freshly prepared two-course meal served on deck, and time for a swim off the Isle of Wight before the return journey. You can take the helm and learn as you sail, or sit back and let the skipper and crew manage everything. Groups of eight or more get a private yacht to themselves. Morning and afternoon departures run daily, midweek and weekends, with special dietary needs catered for on request.
The Experience
The yacht is built for comfort as much as sailing. Twin steering wheels in the open-air cockpit let you have a go at the helm if you want, no experience needed, while the saloon below deck has a dining area, lounge seating and toilets so there is room to spread out. The crew, led by a qualified skipper, handles all the sailing and cooking. Your job is to decide how much you want to participate or how much you want to relax. Champagne arrives as you cast off, and after a few hours on the water you anchor off the Isle of Wight.
The meal is the centerpiece. Two courses are freshly prepared on board and served on deck, so you eat with the water around you and the boat gently at rest. Tea, coffee and a wine list are available throughout the day, or you can bring your own bottle. The crew caters for any dietary requirements you flag at booking. After eating, there is time for a swim if the weather and conditions suit, then more sailing back to Lymington: again, as hands-on or as relaxed as you prefer.
The whole day runs about five and a half hours. You choose a morning or afternoon slot to fit your schedule, and trips run every day of the week. If your group has eight or more people, you get the yacht to yourselves. Smaller groups share with others. All safety equipment is provided, and the crew looks after the details so you do not have to think about anything except the day itself.

Is this one for you?Choose the private yacht option if your group has eight or more people and you want the whole boat to yourselves for the day. If you are a smaller party, you will share with other bookings, which often adds to the social atmosphere. The fixed departure times (morning or afternoon) mean you pick the slot that fits the rest of your itinerary, not the other way around.

Top questions
Can I learn to sail, or do I just sit and watch?

What is the meal like, and can you cater for dietary needs?
A two-course hot meal is freshly prepared on board and served on deck while you are anchored off the Isle of Wight. The crew caters for special dietary requirements if you let them know at the time of booking.
Do smaller groups share the yacht with other people?
Groups of fewer than eight share the yacht with other bookings. If your group has eight or more people, you get a private yacht to yourselves for the day.
What time does the sailing leave, and how long does it take?

Is there a chance to swim during the day?
Yes. After the meal, when the yacht is anchored off the Isle of Wight, there is time for a swim if conditions allow. The crew will advise on the best moment and any safety considerations on the day.
