The experience

The tour starts with you deciding what you want to see. Simon builds the route around your interests rather than running a fixed schedule, so if you want to focus on the high fells and mountain views, or spend more time at the lakes, or visit Beatrix Potter's house, the itinerary shifts to match. The vehicle is air-conditioned and seats your group comfortably for the full 4 hours.

Stops include picture opportunities at Bowness-on-Windermere and Tarn Hows, the waterfall at Stockghyll Force near Ambleside, and the calm scenery around Grasmere and Coniston Water. A coffee break at a local café is built into the route. Beatrix Potter's Hill Top House is available as a stop if you want to visit: entry fees are paid separately on the day. The tour passes through Loughrigg Fell and includes time to browse local shops in Ambleside if that interests you.

Simon drives and narrates throughout, so you get the guide's local knowledge without managing the navigation or the vehicle yourself. Soft drinks and water are available whenever you need them during the tour.
