England's Fastest Zipline at Eden Project: 60mph flight
You launch from a tower 96 metres above the ground and fly across the biomes at speeds most cars don't reach on a motorway.
England's fastest zipline, the Skywire, launches from a platform at the Eden Project in Cornwall and carries you 660 metres across the biomes at speeds up to 60mph in a Superman-style harness. A qualified instructor provides a full safety briefing and harness fitting before you climb the tower and launch; the whole experience runs about an hour. You must be aged 8 or over, weigh between 30–120kg, and be able to climb three flights of stairs and hold a press-up position; wind conditions may adjust the weight limits on the day, and the operator will text you if that happens.
The Experience
The Skywire begins with check-in and a safety briefing from a qualified instructor, who fits your harness and walks you through everything before you head to the launch tower. Once you're at the platform, the staff attach you to the zipline. Then you launch—660 metres of flight at speeds up to 60mph, suspended 96 metres above the ground in a Superman harness, looking down at the famous biomes as you cross them. After you land, the team helps you unharness and you're done.
The ride itself is the draw: you're moving faster than most speed limits allow, and the biomes are directly below you the whole way. There's no sightseeing stop or guided tour mixed in—it's pure acceleration and view. The experience takes about an hour from arrival to leaving, and lockers at reception hold your valuables for free while you're on the line.
