The Experience

Your guide picks you up from your Luxor hotel or Nile cruise in an air-conditioned vehicle and heads south toward Aswan, about two hours away. The first stop is Philae Temple, built across centuries (started under Ptolemy II and finished by Roman emperors), and dedicated to Isis, the goddess the ancient Egyptians saw as mother of Horus and consort of Osiris.
