The experience

Pickup happens at 10:00 am from your hotel or Nile cruise in Luxor. A licensed guide meets you and drives you by private air-conditioned vehicle to Karnak Temple on the East Bank. You'll spend around three hours there walking the temple complex: the greatest example of worship in the history, dedicated to the god Amon, his wife Mut and their son Khonsu. The scale and detail of the carvings and columns are what make Karnak distinct from other temples in the region.

After Karnak, the guide drives you to Luxor Temple, built during the 18th Dynasty by Amunhotep III and later completed by Ramesses II in the 19th Dynasty. The temple sits closer to the Nile than Karnak and has a different layout and purpose. It was a royal cult temple rather than a state temple. You'll have time to walk the pylons, courtyards and sanctuary before heading back to your hotel or airport.

The tour includes a bottle of water and round-trip transport in a private vehicle.
